Overview

Redi was created to simplify property management by consolidating multiple tasks into one platform. Property managers often face delays, errors, and communication issues due to the need to juggle different vendors, contracts, and payment systems. Redi combines these workflows into a single, efficient system, helping managers and investors save time and reduce costly mistakes. The platform also promotes transparency, building trust between property managers, owners, and service providers.

Challenges

The main challenge at Redi was building an MVP that met all the needs of property managers and service providers in one platform. We aimed to cover everything: job creation, bidding, lead management, work submission, contracts, communication, and payments—all while making the experience straightforward and intuitive. Balancing this range of tasks while keeping the platform user-friendly was a true test for our team.

High Level Goals

01

Create a complete, end-to-end solution for both service providers and property owners, covering everything from communication and task management to invoicing and payments, all within a single platform.

02

Develop a platform that consolidates the functionality of 5+ apps that users are currently relying on, bringing everything they need into one place for seamless property management.

Process

Deep dive
To start the project, I focused on understanding the business goals and user needs. I analyzed stakeholder input and interviewed potential users to learn their pain points and how they manage property services. This helped gather insights to guide the product's design and align it with user and business objectives.
Sketch & Shape
After gathering insights, I reviewed the initial designs to identify what worked and what needed improvement. I then sketched new concepts for MVP features, created wireframes to visualize user flows, and refined them based on feedback.
Build & Collaborate
Design and development closely collaborated to quickly implement features, test with real users, and iterate based on immediate feedback. This approach allowed us to refine features and address issues swiftly, ensuring the MVP aligned with user needs.
Test & Tweak
During testing, we gained valuable insights into user needs, identifying essential features and areas for improvement. This helped us prioritize new functionality and refine the platform to better align with real-world use cases.
Next steps
As Redi grows, we plan ongoing improvements and design updates. These include refining current features, adding new functionalities, and enhancing the user experience to ensure the platform continues to meet user needs and scales effectively.

Impact

In just four months, we launched Redi in the App Store, including key features like invoicing, messaging, bid creation, subscriptions, and deals. We tested the app with real users, used their feedback to improve, and now have over 125 active users, with the number growing daily. The app is making a real difference in how Property Owners and Service Providers manage their work, and we’re excited to keep building on that success.

Key Learnings

This project has given me several valuable insights along the way

User-Centric Design

Listening to both property managers and service providers was crucial for building features that addressed real needs, like job creation, bidding, and payment tracking.

Stay ready to adapt

User testing often brings unexpected challenges, making it crucial to be flexible and make quick adjustments when surprises arise.

Feature Prioritisation

Understanding that not all features are equally important to users allowed us to focus on the most valuable ones, like invoicing and job management, for early MVP success.

Scalability

Building features with scalability in mind, ensuring future iterations could grow with user demand.
